The Age of Reason - (2002-2003)
Physical similarities between ape and human make the animal a prime candidate for reflection: however, the observation of animals is counter-productive. Our view of the ape is always contaminated by a reflection of ourselves, this renders it impossible to see the animal on its own terms.
Works from this series have been shown extensively. Two drawings were awarded the student prize at The Jerwood Drawing prize and toured multiple venues around Australia and Asia as part of the Jerwod's "Drawing Breath" exhibition. A selection have also been exhibited at a number of venues in the US.
